Excellent article - very intriguing. So few realize the massive role arms really plays in world economics. Money with which so much else could be done. Influence that could be so different in nature.
I'm not an expert either, but the reality (such as I can possibly know of it) of the arms trade and how it works outside of all norms of control always amazes me.
I feel that much wool is pulled over our eyes, and the big money, big power and collusion of the arms trade that goes on underneath all the big international deliberations and treaties and arrangements in other areas that are given media coverage, is beyond the comprehension of most of us.

I live in the Caribbean and am trying to launch myself as a jewelry artist and training and development consultant on the Internet. This has become an area I consider nearly every day - how important good internet access is to Caribbean people like myself.
Our islands can hardly sustain many of us producing goods and services even in good tourism seasons, so being able to reach out in cyber-space I believe, will be fundamentally important to anyone wanting to have a sustainable flow of income.
