A Moral Argument for Bullfighting: More Humane than Eating Meat
Daddy didn't send me to Oxford, but it's patently obvious that all antis are included in the 'no interest' 68.8%.
And if you want to make friends and influence people - don't abuse their comments board by posting the same comment 5 times.
It might come across as spoilt and petulant.
A Moral Argument for Bullfighting: More Humane than Eating Meat
Sonja,
the Spanish people spent a long time as a backward nation thanks to a venal Church and State, but they're a C21st European nation now, and doubt they'd welcome the parallel with hunter/gatherers. :)
More than 72%(Gallup)of them find it barbaric, shameful or have no interest in it at all. I've been to the Pamplona bullrun myself - Spain is fascinating, and bulls will always be part of their culture, but it takes little imagination to see that that could continue to be so without the savage cruelty inflicted on the animals.
That wouldn't satisfy a rudderless, dilettante Englishman with a penchant for recreational sadism but that's another question altogether. . .
A Moral Argument for Bullfighting: More Humane than Eating Meat
Sonja,
you find whether or not to torture and kill a captive animal for pleasure a "borderline issue"? No - it really IS a simple issue: Right or Wrong?
Fiske Harrison's 'moral dilemma' is a manufactured conceit to give a 'philosophical' sheen to this: bullkilling turned him from the day he first saw it.
If anyone really finds bullfighting "borderline" - please spend an hour on YOUTUBE searching 'Bullfight cruelty'. It may put the culture and tradition in perspective.

Please Victoria,
EVERYONE should read this review from the Times Literary Supplement before they make up their mind about this man and his homoerotic ego project:

The Guinness book of records might be interested: that could be the World's SMALLEST Bull!
Curiously blunt horns too . . .

P.S. The poor animal he stabbed 3 times and still couldn't kill was a CALF - not a bull.
