The Depth of Truth in Cambodia
No amount of words or illustrations can fully describe what happenned during the reign of terrors under the Khmer Rouge in the 1970s.
Many survivors have tried to tell the world of the untold and tragic events, but countless others just keep - and will keep - the dark and painful pasts to themselves. For telling the truths will be just like opening the deep wounds all over again.
Even though they want to bring the truth story out of their chest, they are not sure how many people will take their true story seriously enough. They feel may be it is wise just to keep it to themselves, for bringing it out will make them become a victim one more time, and maybe it is just a waste of time.
Sadly, the victims will die with the pains without letting anybody know of how they survived under the Khmer Rouge, and without expressing how we (as intelligent being as we call ourselves) could prevent the same tragedies from happening again. The truths will never be told, for not many humans are really interested in them.
Tragically, some people with power will continue to abuse any governing systems - and the powerless will continue to be accused, discriminated against, and systematically put to their eventual tragic deaths; as many other people who never have to experience pains will continue to go on with their lives with a smile as if nothing happens.
