Very interesting article about Buddhism. Its true tourist bring along a whole new way of life and with them comes the fear of influence, both good and bad. But, again its not always like that...as you have rightly shown us.

Very inspiring article and one that everyone should read to understand how wild life suffers for no fault of theirs.

Very interesting article...just goes to show how proper mechanisms can lead to empowering women. Many a time huge capital invested in empowerment schemes fail but, NGO understanding the grassroots have come up with sustainable methods to do away with poverty and dependence amongst women.

Its true the impact of climate change is being felt irrespective of IPCC's mistake. The article is a great piece on how farmers are suffering and it brings to the fore the need for immediate steps.

While India and developed nations struggle to reduce the impact on the environment, its going to be a long hot summer for many of us and with water scarcity even hitting the urban areas this season, the scenario is rather bleak.

Its unfortunate that urbanization has lead to a compromise of sorts instead of being one with human relationships as cities were in the past. Your article has brought to the fore this issue that has been a cause of worry for every nation, now every human.
I hate to think that at this rate humans might become so individualistic that the jungle rule will return. If not...its in a way already happening.

Dear Jennifer,
I'm glad you likes this piece. As you state, this is really interesting and a better way to go about things. Unfortunately out here I have never come across a system that aims at reforming the culprit and reducing the chance of the crime being repeated. Probably this could be a viable option and authorities could take an initiative.

Dear Parwatisingari,
That's right, marital rape is a global violence that women are facing. Victims are more than often made to believe that its their mistake if they deny their husband sex which is from where the sense of guilt arises. Unless women come to realize that they have the sole right over their bodies and that marriage doesn't take this away, then only will they uphold this right with authority.

That's right, its a personal choice but like always in India there is hardly anything one call a personal choice. Everything is so nailed to social norms that things as personal as the choice of a partner needs to be in accordance. We are not prepared to welcome a change and with great resistance when this happens we wonder what all the hullabaloo was about. Interesting read about a topic many people still don't want to comment on.

Interesting insight. While the debate will never end and religion will always be dragged into wars as a reason or sighted as a solution, the tenacity to keep up aggression during the holy month is not surprising. Since politically religion has often been used to arouse sentiments towards ones duties for their cult and motherland, I come to think that as these thoughts intensify with pray and during religious gatherings, people become more inclined to resent and retaliate with hatred.

There seems to be hope but as you have also mentioned, in a country that suffers from so many shortcomings, it looks like impossible that a vaccine will actually be effective enough to make a difference. There is utter ignorance and awareness levels are nil for majority of women, both literate and otherwise. However, the fact that the Gujarat government has recognized this disease and has in mind to find a solution, in itself is a positive step we hope to see come up with positive results.
