Reading this book, I had a hard time understanding how this woman could be so concerned about the hardship of these women half a world away, and not think about her little boys who supposedly had an abusive father, had seen their mother abused, and now was being abandoned by their mother to go "help" other women. Then, constantly placed these women in danger because of her own narcissistic behaviours. although it was very interesting and disturbing to read about the abuse these women endured, and I was happy for those who became more indipendant, my feelings were tempered and checked by my concern over Ms. Rodriguez's ability to give telling details about other's but not about the "supposed" person(s) who helped whisked her away, and those who "threatened" her and her son Noah's lives. My opinion is, they could have killed her anytime they wanted to. It seemed very convenient that at the time she obtained the proceeds from this book, and started to get movie offers, etc., that her life "suddenly" was threatened and she could not even tell her husband who of all people could have had her put to death with all of the things he knew intimatley about her, yet helped her with the school, with obtaining protection etc.
Something is out of place, and I do not feel that the whole truth has been given.
Ms. Rodruiguez seems to "flee" constantly from one situation to another as it benefits her. I am interested to find out more from her ex-husband, the other women she helped start the school with, her Afghani husband, etc.
