Interesting follow up on my articles is this story by Brian Byrnes on the work of the Argentine Forensic Anthropology Team (EAAF in Spanish) and their tremendous success in identifying and reuniting family members with the remains of their loved ones through the use of science.

The team visits cemeteries where they suspect to find (mass) graves of the disappeared and match the results of their investigation with a database of blood samples they took from family members that remain uncertain about the whereabouts of their disappeared relatives.

@Vera: I agree that the military had a lot of power (too much) at the time which allowed them do what they did. But many people today do believe that the coup was necessary as well as the silencing of socialist ideas.
To give you an idea, see the comments on a review on the documentary Norma Arrostito, La Gaby published on the website of Perfil newspaper last year.
